Loving Genet

After watching many of my blogging friends travel to meet their Compassion International sponsor child, I felt God working in my heart to join this worthy cause. At first I didn't think I had the money, but then I realized that cable TV cost more than my sponsorship would. After this realization I knew what God wanted from me! God made it very clear to me that I was to go online and sponsor a child...and I did just that!

I now have a new sister in Christ! She is 4 years old and her name is Genet! She lives in Ethiopia! Having Genet in my life has changed so many things. I pray now more than ever and understand the importance of my sponsorship to Genet. When I was in College I traveled to Cambodia three different times and I can say from personal experience I understand just how much these children need a sponsor. However, I will say that this little girl has taught me more than I could ever teach her! She is just beautiful and truly a princess in every since of the word. I long for her to know her worth and value to her Father and claim her identiy as a child of the one true King! I want her to get the chance to go to school, have nutritious meals and appropriate health care. I also want her mother to rest for a chance and know that help is on the way.

I know that God stratigically placed Genet in my life at this specific time and I can't wait to see what He is going to teach me through the eyes of this precious child! Not only are things going to change for Genet, but I have a feeling they are going to change in a big way for me too! I think I need her just as much as she needs me!

Thinking Positive

So....I think I would have a better day if I started my morning off this way!! I'm going to try it!! God bless her...she even loves her hair and her hair cut!!!! Now that's a good start to anyone's day....good hair!!!

BRING IT ON!

I was looking through pictures today and stumbled upon this picture of me...I was 3 years old! I was fearless and ready to take on the world with my battery powered three-wheeler! All I lacked was an appropriate tiara...but my daddy's hat, placed backwards and lopsided (of course!) on my head was working for me just the same!! At the tender age of 3....I was on my way to change the world....and nothing was going to stop me!!

Oh LORD...may I never lose the confidence I had at the age of 3!! May we never forget to be "like children" and realize that all things are possible and we have nothing to fear....for victory is already ours!! May you continually remind me that I was created for a purpose...and everything I face will be worth the cost!! Give me back the courage of this little girl to trust you without hesitation and never doubt that she was made for great things!!

Update on Haiti Trip

Hello!!

Here is a quick update on the status of my trip to Haiti. We were supposed to leave on Feb.6th....but it looks we are going to have a wait a little longer. We are still in need of more doctors to come with us and until we get more medical personnel on the team we will have to wait.

Please pray for God to bring the right doctors on the trip and that we can leave soon!!
